It was one of those nights. I'm not too sure what went on other than I had some Colt 45 in a black can. I didn't know how different it is from the regular white can but I had both during the course of the night. My opinions and recollections may be hazy as I'm evidently a light-weight. Were the bands good? Uhhhhhhhh. Maybe? Were the great? Maybe? Were they messy? Maybe? I just don't know. It was fun, though. That much is certain.

Both Tight Genes and Pillowfight are two brand new Orlando bands just out for their first "club" shows. Made up of familiar faces time will tell if these are just side projects or something more lasting. Tight Genes is Owen and Denise (Lagues, Vein Cranes), Kayo (Kid Taco), Simon (Woolly Bushmen), with Noah (Lazy Boyzzz, Kid Taco) on lead vocals. They were pretty great.

Pillowfight is a trio of Denise (Tight Genes), Kayo (Tight Genes) and drummer Sarah. So, you see the incestuous nature of these bands? Denise takes charge of lead vocals and guitar laying down the law of rock and roll. They were pretty great.

I might say Dead People are a new Orlando band hitting up the scene with a fury playing at least three shows that I heard about in the past week. But really they are from New Orleans down here for recording by day and playing shows by night. Their garagey two guitar assault was pretty great (in case you couldn't figure it out).
